Today I finally wrote a page that renders correctly in Internet Explorer. It was a difficult feat, but I managed somehow.
All designers planning to write standards compliant pages for Internet Explorer should follow my lead.

I find it truly disconcerting that Google, an incredibly innovative company, cares so little for web standards and accessibility. You might have noticed that Google’s page does not validate, having not even specified a DOCTYPE. Additionally, new features of Google, such as GMail, rely upon an immense amount of JavaScript to even function at all. Because of this, all of Google’s productions are quite inaccessible. Why would Google take this approach when its goal is to “organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”?
I can no longer say that I think very positively of Google. While they seem to be trustworthy, unlike some other companies, they still do not set a good example for the web. Just imagine how beneficial it would be if a company as powerful as Google would advocate web standards and set a good example of their use. I really wish that Google would be an all-around good company, but I guess that all powerful companies are going to be corruptive in nature.

I decided to convert this site from HTML 4.0 Transitional to XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Everybody can see how awesome I am in proving that it validates by checking the link on the bottom of each page. In addition to the conversion to XHTML, there are some new design features, including columns for some lists, and annoying floating images.
I have some new content that I am working on that will expand the currently rather neglected Web Design section. I hope to complete it in a day or two.

Well, this is my new blog. Hopefully this blog will be less boring than the old one, which I closed several months ago because it was too boring for my sanity. This time, I am going to try to post more interesting things. Perhaps people will actually want to read it this time around.
I am particularly proud of how this design came out. This is the first CSS layout I’ve made that actually works in Microsoft’s Internet Exploder (gasp). I hope people like it. If you have any suggestions, be sure to add comments.
Don’t forget to check out all of the pages I’ve put up on the left. I’ll be adding more scripts and stuff later, so check back often!
