I finally got a Wii
I was told that I was being absurd. I was told it wasn’t worthwhile. Yesterday, at 8:00 AM, in the little town of Rockdale, I finally acquired a Wii. It’s been a week since a friend at Wal-Mart informed me that they got a shipment of 9 Wii units that they couldn’t sell until the 6th at 8 AM.
I got to the Wal-Mart shortly after midnight. People online said I should go at 6 AM. The people working at Wal-Mart at midnight said I should come back at 7, because they knew nothing about a Wii shipment and the truck wouldn’t arrive until then. I almost listened to them, but only minutes after I showed up, the next two people in line, a couple, showed up. The woman asked if I was here for the Wii, and we were glad to learn that we weren’t the only crazy people in town.
It wasn’t long before another couple showed up. Within an hour, the line had 5 people/groups in it. By 5 AM, all 9 Wiis were accounted for. We all just sat there for hours in chairs in front of the service desk, while unfortunate people in other towns had to stay out in the cold. A little after 7, vouchers were handed out, and I proudly took number 1. After standing in the cold for two hours last week, and spending hours in other lines only to fail, I took it to the extreme and succeeded. And they said I should get there at 6 or 7. Go Mii.
